Vision Journal Prompt for a Cluttered Mind

Declutter your Mind through Creativity

Lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with to-do’s traveling all over my mind and it ends up feeling very cluttered. Without writing them down, my mind is like a constant merry-go-round of to-do’s, upcoming projects, and things I don’t want to forget about. In case you can relate, I’m sharing an activity that has helped me calm my mental load over the past 12 hours.

Supplies: Journal or paper, pen, option - colored pencils, pens, or markers

Instructions:

  1. On a journal page or piece a paper, label your to-do list anything you like. Today mine is called “All the things”

  2. Pick a shape that is easy for you to draw. Today I chose imperfect circles and ovals. Fill your page with those shapes. Option - color in the gaps between shapes for some creative stress relief.

  3. In no particular order, other than when they appear in your mind, fill in the shapes with the to-do’s floating in your head.

  4. Option - choose any you can delegate or outsource. For the rest, pick a time in your schedule you will aim to do them and write/type them in your calendar or planner.

  5. My next step will be partially coloring the shapes in as I make progress and fully coloring them in when finished for more creative stress relief.
